WHO WE ARE
I am (Louise Cottey Textiles) and always have been completely committed to the privacy of my customers, workshop attendants and those who read my newsletter. It is in no interest to me to sell your information to any third party and I will do my utmost to make sure your personal information is kept safe. Without your trust and interest in my work, I don’t have a business. It’s that simple!
THE TYPES OF DATA I COLLECT
Honestly, I’m not that tech-savvy to be able to harvest oodles of data about you. I use Google Analytics to research who is using my website, when and why. This is standard behaviour from all who have a website I believe and helps me to plan my marketing a little more strategically.
If you attend one of my workshops, I ask you to complete a contact form, with your name, postal address, email address and contact phone numbers. This is primarily for me to be able to contact you with information about the class. Your postal address is useful for me in targeting my marketing and I will never use your contact details to cold call you.
MY NEWSLETTER
If you have signed up to my newsletter, I use the online company, Mail Chimp, to help design and send my newsletters. Your name and email address will be held by them for this purpose alone. If you require more details of their privacy policy, you can find that on their website. Your details will only be used to send my newsletter containing details of my work and any forthcoming exhibitions, events and workshops. You may unsubscribe at any time, by clicking the button at the bottom of the newsletter. I may include links to other websites (both in my newsletter and on my website), if you choose to follow the link, your data is not governed by my privacy policy.
MY WORKSHOPS
If you have attended one of my workshops, I have asked your permission to hold your contact details on file, including your postal address and phone number. This allows me to contact you directly about the course. I will also have asked your permission to use photographs of your work on my website, social media platforms and newsletters. You will also have agreed to share your phone number with other members of the group as part of my ‘telephone tree’. I keep your details under lock and key in my office and they will remain on file for 3 years after you have left the workshop. If you would like them destroyed earlier that that, please contact me and I’ll burn or shred them. I may also use your information as a reference in apps such as ‘Evernote’ or ‘Drop Box’ to help plan each workshop. I may also share these plans with my supply teacher. If you would rather I didn’t use your information in this way or would like to limit the information shared, then please contact me Likewise if you would like to see your data I hold, please do get in touch.
SALES
If you have bought a piece of my work, thank you very much, you may have used my ‘Sum Up’ card payment machine. I will have entered your phone number or email address to give you a receipt. I have no access to that data and you should contact Sum Up if you are at all concerned with how they use your personal information.
If at any time you would like more information about how I use your data or would like to see what personal information I hold, do please get in touch.
Lastly, thank you for reading my privacy policy, it will be reviewed from time to time as my business grows. Please reward yourself with a nice cup of tea and a biscuit
